Adding the widget to your website with Google Tag Manager is quick and easy. Follow this guide to get your widget live in just a few minutes and start connecting with visitors.
Go to your Text App dashboard, then head to Settings → Website widgets. If you’re connecting your website during onboarding, you can also click the Connect website widget from your homepage task list instead.
Enter the URL of the website where you want to add the widget.

You’ll be prompted to use the Google Tag Manager installation method. Click Connect to continue the installation process.

Pick the Google account you’d like to continue with.
Make sure the selected account has the right permissions to create and publish GTM tags. If needed, you can select an alternative installation method from the list.
Select the GTM account connected to your website and the Container where you’d like to add the Text tag.

Before publishing, you’ll have the opportunity to preview the widget in GTM to ensure it looks and works as expected.

Once you’re ready, click Publish to show the widget.
If everything is working, the status will update to Connected, and you’ll see a notification that your website widget is live 🎉.

If you haven’t received a notification that your website widget is live, you’ll be asked to visit your website to check manually. If Text App shows “Widget not detected on your website” even after you visited it, you can Start over the installation process and, for example, select a different GTM account or choose another installation method.
You can repeat the installation process for as many sites as you need.
GTM makes it easy to manage multiple websites, but it’s not the only installation method. For websites without GTM, you can follow the alternative installation guide.
You can always check or manage your installation in Settings → Website widgets.

For each connected site, you’ll see:
Website URL
Who added the website
Setup method
Website widget connection date
Installation status (Connected or Not connected)

This section is your main control panel for managing website connections. Click the three dots next to any widget to:
Visit the website where the widget is added
Customize your website widget
Get the installation code
Click the + New website widget button to create a new website widget.
