The WordPress plugin makes it easy to add a chat widget to your website without manually adding widget code. You can add live chat to your WordPress site and connect it to Text to use AI agents, workflows, visitor tracking, and more.
If your site runs on WooCommerce, the plugin automatically brings ecommerce insights into chat.
You can install and connect the plugin in three ways:
Before you start, make sure you have the following:
WordPress version: 6.0 or higher
PHP version: 7.4 or higher
Text account (can be created during setup)
Install the plugin directly from your WordPress Admin Panel.
Start in Text by creating a widget, then follow the guided steps to install the plugin in WordPress.
Upload and install the plugin .zip file from the WordPress Plugin Directory manually if installation from the marketplace is not available.

Start in your WordPress Admin Panel.
In your WordPress admin dashboard, go to Plugins → Add Plugin, search for the AI Chatbot by Text plugin, then click Install Now and Activate.

Open the Text tab in your WordPress sidebar, click Connect Text, and log in or sign up for a Text account.

Complete the setup in Text to finish connecting your website.
You can check the widget status and manage all website widgets in Settings → Website widgets.
If the status does not change to Connected, visit your site and interact with the widget to trigger activity. The status should then update to Connected.

Start from your Text account.
Go to your Text dashboard, then head to Settings → Website widgets.
Enter the URL of the website where you want to add the widget, then select Continue.

You’ll be prompted to use the WordPress installation method. To continue, go to your WordPress admin dashboard and follow the installation steps.
Clicking “Add to WordPress” will take you to the plugin page in the WordPress Plugin Directory.

In your WordPress admin dashboard, go to Plugins → Add Plugin, search for the AI Chatbot by Text plugin, then click Install Now and Activate.

In WordPress, open the Text tab from the sidebar, then click Connect Text.

Log in to your existing Text account to connect Text to WordPress. Your widget should then be active.
You can check its status in Settings → Website widgets.

If the status does not update, visit your site and interact with the widget. This should trigger activity and change the status to Connected.

Use this method if you cannot install the plugin from the marketplace.
Go to the WordPress Plugin Directory, search for AI Chatbot by Text, and Download the .zip file.

Navigate to Plugins → Add Plugin and select Upload Plugin. Choose the .zip file from your downloaded files.

Click Install Now, then select Activate Plugin.
Open the Text tab from the sidebar, then click Connect Text to complete the installation.
